European Governance Winter 2013/14
(European Governance Winter 2013/14)

The objective of the course is to provide students with the analytical tools to understand the actual problems and proposed solutions of European governance. The semester is structured in two parts. The first is dealing with political dynamics in the enlarged EU, democratic legitimacy and other questions about the two-level governance. The second part treats the main challenges to European governance: the role of the rotating Council Presidency, redistribution and the centre-periphery relationship, social and welfare requirements, managing trade, energy and neighborhood policies.
